DAYTOUR GUIDELINES

We want every guest to enjoy a safe and pleasant journey. Please take note of the following guidelines:

1. Conduct & Behavior

Tours by Jano reserves the right to end the tour immediately if there is any bad behavior or disrespect towards our staff.

Courtesy and cooperation are expected at all times to ensure a smooth experience.

2. Driver & Guide Services

Our drivers are basic guides only and can provide general assistance.

If you wish to have a professional licensed tour guide, this can be arranged for ¥30,000 (10 hours), with an overtime fee of ¥5,000 per additional hour (subject to availability).

3. Vehicle Use

The vehicle is company property. Please treat it with care.

Some of our drivers may not be able to operate the Bluetooth function of the car.

4. Guest Belongings

Our staff cannot carry or manage personal belongings such as bags, shopping bags, or umbrellas during the tour. Guests are responsible for their own items.

5. Cleanliness & Fees

Guests are expected to maintain cleanliness inside the vehicle.

In cases where extra cleaning is required due to negligence, a cleaning fee of ¥50,000 will be charged.

Nature & Scenic Spots

• Lake Ashi (Ashinoko) – Crater lake with Mt. Fuji views, often seen with pirate ship–style cruises.

• Hakone Ropeway – Aerial cable car with panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and Owakudani Valley.

• Owakudani Valley – Volcanic area with hot springs, sulfur vents, and the famous black eggs.

• Hakone Botanical Garden of Wetlands – Beautiful nature reserve with seasonal plants.

Cultural & Historical Sites

• Hakone Shrine – Famous lakeside shrine with red torii gate on the water.

• Hakone Checkpoint (Hakone Sekisho) – Historic Edo-period checkpoint on the old Tokaido Road.

• Hakone Detached Palace (Onshi-Hakone Park) – Former Imperial villa with gardens and Mt. Fuji views.

Museums & Art

• Hakone Open-Air Museum – Outdoor art museum featuring sculptures, Picasso Pavilion, and hot spring foot baths.

• Polà Museum of Art – Impressive art collection in a modern glass building surrounded by forest.

• Okada Museum of Art – Large museum with Japanese and East Asian art.

Leisure & Shopping

• Hakone Kowakien Yunessun – Hot spring theme park with unique baths (wine, coffee, green tea).

• Hakone Venetian Glass Museum – European-style museum with Venetian glass art and gardens.

• Hakone Gora Park – French-style landscape garden with tea houses, fountains, and craft workshops.

• Hakone Yumoto – Main hot spring town with shops, restaurants, and ryokan (traditional inns).
