DAYTOUR GUIDELINES

    We want every guest to enjoy a safe and pleasant journey. Please take note of the following guidelines:

1. Conduct & Behavior

     Tours by Jano reserves the right to end the tour immediately if there is any bad behavior or disrespect towards our staff.

     Courtesy and cooperation are expected at all times to ensure a smooth experience.

2. Driver & Guide Services

     Our drivers are basic guides only and can provide general assistance.

      If you wish to have a professional licensed tour guide, this can be arranged for ¥30,000 (10 hours), with an overtime fee of ¥5,000 per                        additional hour (subject to availability).

3. Vehicle Use

     The vehicle is company property. Please treat it with care.

     Some of our drivers may not be able to operate the Bluetooth function of the car.

4. Guest Belongings

     Our staff cannot carry or manage personal belongings such as bags, shopping bags, or umbrellas during the tour. Guests are responsible for       their own items.

5. Cleanliness & Fees

      Guests are expected to maintain cleanliness inside the vehicle.

     In cases where extra cleaning is required due to negligence, a cleaning fee of ¥50,000 will be charged.

• Otaru Canal (Otaru Unga) – Iconic canal lined with old stone warehouses, especially beautiful at night with gas lamps.

• Otaru Sakaimachi Street – Historic merchant street with preserved buildings, shops, and cafes.

• Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery (nearby) – Famous whisky distillery offering tours and tastings.

Museums & Culture

• Otaru Music Box Museum – Huge collection of music boxes with a chance to make your own.

• Kitaichi Glass Museum – Traditional glassware displays and shops (Otaru is known as the “city of glass”).

• Otaru Museum (Bank of Japan Building) – Historic building showcasing Otaru’s financial history.

Views & Nature

• Mt. Tenguyama (Tengu Mountain) – Ropeway up to a viewpoint overlooking Otaru and Ishikari Bay.

• Otaru Aquarium – Family-friendly attraction with marine life exhibits and dolphin shows.

 Food & Shopping

• Otaru Sushi Street (Otaru Sushi-ya Dori) – Renowned for some of the freshest sushi in Hokkaido.

• LeTAO – Famous Hokkaido cheesecake and sweets shop.

• Kitaichi Hall Café – Unique café illuminated by hundreds of oil lamps.

Typical  Tour Highlights (8–10 Hours)

• Morning: Walk along Otaru Canal, explore Sakaimachi Street, and visit the Music Box & Glass Museums.

• Lunch: Enjoy fresh sushi at Otaru Sushi Street.

• Afternoon: Visit Mt. Tenguyama Ropeway for views, stop by LeTAO for dessert.

• Optional: End with a side trip to Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery before returning to Sapporo.
